This house is near the cemetery
at Round Bottom. Nelson Gwinn gives its history as follows:
[This structure]
was not built by Granddad Gwinn per se[.] When he gave up his Saloon (The
Mountain Dew Saloon) at McDonald and moved to the farm he moved or had moved this old
house from the Garden Ground on top of the mountain above his farm. He, of course,
did add to the house and they lived in it until he built the new house which was finished
in 1918.
